Citizen scientist volunteers engage in monarch conservation, education and monitoring to varying degrees. While most collect data and report observations to the larger project, some volunteers engage in improving project design, analyzing data, and even help to facilitate the project. Volunteers have played a vital role in expanding our understanding of monarchs through citizen science.
