The Monarch Joint Venture is pleased to announce that Heartland Restoration Services, Inc. has joined the partnership. Heartland Restoration Services, based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, works to provide native landscape restoration throughout its service area.

Heartland Restoration Services was founded in 1994 to provide cost-effective, full-service native landscape restoration. They operate a regional native seed and plant nursery spanning more than 50 acres. Within the numerous greenhouses on the property, you’ll find a selection of over 140 local genotype native plant species, including four species of milkweed and numerous nectar-rich plants.

These plants are used in prairie restorations, as well as wetland restorations. Heartland also performs invasive species control, prescribed burn management, and woodland management to help restore and conserve healthy, native ecosystems.

They bring their private, commercial expertise to the partnership and will continue to bring native habitat back to the Fort Wayne area that benefits monarchs, pollinators, and many other species.
