MJV awarded NEEF biodiversity conservation grant to turn wildfire into a win for wildlife

Monarch Joint Venture is pleased to announce a new pollinator habitat restoration project in the Southern Plains, made possible by a Biodiversity Conservation Grant from the National Environmental Education Foundation. The project will restore and enhance over 1,100 acres of public land at the Concannon and Finney Wildlife Management Areas in southwest Kansas, in collaboration with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and Ducks Unlimited. Based in St. Louis and Kansas City, Swallowtail has been restoring ecosystems in Missouri and Kansas for the past 20 years, creating roughly 3,000 acres of wetland and stream mitigation banks that include restored prairies, wetlands, forests, and streams.
