Fire Seasonality and Frequency Tour
We are pleased to announce our upcoming fire tour called “Prescribed Fire Seasonality and Frequency” on August 27th from 10:30 – 2:30 PM in the Platte River Bluffs outside of Linwood. At this tour we will explore the themes that surround utilizing prescribed fire across different seasons and varying frequency to accomplish ecological objectives. From the effects on wildlife to vegetation, to preparation and tips to burning during all these seasons we will spend the time looking at and these results all on one site. The host landowner and local VFD have allowed us to burn patches in December, April, and in August to help communicate this message which will be a unique perspective for those in attendance. There is also a chance we might be able to burn another unit depending on weather and permit availability.
Registration is required to attend. Lunch and drinks will be provided but please bring a bag chair for your comfort during lunch. Please register by August 26th. Link below for registration.
