The MJV is excited to welcome Ernst Seeds to the partner network! For 60 years, Ernst Seeds has grown, processed, and sold hundreds of species of native and naturalized seeds and live plant materials for restoration, beautification, reclamation, and conservation. They produce many eastern ecotypes of native flowers and grasses particularly adapted to wetland restoration, meadow establishment, and bioretention. Some species are developed under source-identified criteria and common ecotypes. They also sell in-house developed custom mixes for wetland mitigation, restoration, wildlife habitat, and soil bioengineering.
Ernst Seeds is dedicated to the production of plant materials that create habitats beneficial to monarchs and other invertebrates. They cultivate three types of milkweed on site to support monarchs. They sell individual species, as well as targeted seed mixes, including Butterfly & Hummingbird Garden Mix, Fuzz & Buzz Premium Mix for sheep grazing, Solar Pollinator Buffer Mix, - all of which contain milkweed - and more.
Ernst Seeds is excited to connect and collaborate with more monarch conservation organizations, and is eager to share their experience, expertise, and resources, to promote monarchs and other pollinators. They already have partnerships with a variety of MJV Partners, and we are excited to expand our work with them. Ernst Seeds brings years of experience in the plant materials industry and a commitment to promoting and expanding resources for pollinator habitat creation and restoration.
