Dive into the Monarch NECTAR Hub, the Monarch Joint Venture’s comprehensive online learning platform dedicated to monarch conservation! You'll find a wealth of resources and courses designed to deepen your understanding of monarchs and their crucial role in our ecosystem.
Whether you're a seasoned conservationist or just beginning your journey, the Monarch NECTAR Hub has something for everyone, including kids! Explore topics ranging from monarch biology and migration to habitat restoration and climate change impacts. Each course is crafted by experts to ensure you gain the most up-to-date and actionable knowledge.
Check out our newest course, the Chrysalis Crew, an interactive one-hour course for kids aged 8-12 (suggested) that offers an engaging and educational journey into monarch butterflies. On their own schedule, kids can complete this course online by watching a series of engaging videos and participating in exciting activities. They will learn about the life cycle, sensory systems, migration, and threats facing the monarch, as well as lots of actions to protect monarchs. Each chapter combines scientific knowledge with hands-on experiences to help young explorers understand and appreciate these fascinating insects. This course is for kids at home, school, or on summer break.
Other courses on the Monarch NECTAR Hub include Mini Monarch Essentials, Complete Monarch Essentials, Monarch Larva Monitoring Program training, and Integrated Monarch Monitoring Program. You can also sign up for the North American Monarch Institute, a hybrid online and in-person professional development training for educators.
Here’s what some of our learners have to say:
“I left the course feeling not only more informed but also inspired to take meaningful steps in preserving these incredible insects.”
“I feel like I can better teach my students how to help monarchs and other pollinators.”
