The MJV is thrilled to welcome Apex Clean Energy to the partnership! Apex is an industry leader in the origination, commercialization, construction, and operation of utility-scale wind and solar energy facilities, distributed solar, and energy storage projects. With their core value of sustainability top of mind, Apex strives to not only lower the collective environmental footprint of America’s energy systems, but also enhance local ecosystems and habitats where its projects are developed and operated. Through the Apex Conservation Grant Program, sponsorships, and direct collaborations, the company supports wildlife conservation, habitat restoration, and other environmental conservation initiatives near its project communities.
Through agency and conservation partnerships, Apex has been incorporating monarch and pollinator habitat into solar and wind projects and is excited to expand this work. One of these collaboration projects includes enrolling the Coldwater River Solar Project in Michigan in the Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund’s Solar Synergy program and installing pollinator habitat in the project perimeter. Apex also supports monarch conservation through corporate donations, and by directly involving their employees in efforts—such as participating in the bi-annual Miles for Monarchs campaign.
Apex is committed to staying up to date with the latest monarch conservation science, working with monarch and pollinator experts to find more ways to incorporate pollinator habitat into their project plans, and pushing the envelope on corporate conservation. The company brings an understanding of the importance of partnerships, protecting biodiversity, and stabilizing ecosystems in their project communities, as well as a unique connection with communities across the country where monarch habitat needs protecting and restoring. We are excited to welcome Apex Clean Energy into the network to expand pollinator habitat across the country and enhance our network of dedicated partners.
