Mercy Manzanares

Mercy Manzanares

Program Coordinator (she/her/ella)
Mercy champions national monarch and pollinator conservation by supporting projects across MJV’s priority focus areas of science, education, and habitat. She is a knowledgeable pollinator ecologist with a habitat monitoring and management background. Mercy is skilled in finding the balance between development and the environment through her experience working on infrastructure projects in the transportation, renewable energy, public and private sectors. Her experience with threatened and endangered species consultation allows her to understand project impacts on natural resources thoroughly. In addition, her strong interpersonal communication skills help her to share her passion for the monarch effectively with various audiences, from ranchers to roadway designers. Mercy holds a B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Spanish from Nebraska Wesleyan University as well as a M.S. in Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. In her free time, she is an avid Master’s swimmer and holds the state record in the 200 Butterfly and 200 Breaststroke. She also enjoys cooking, making silly jokes, and visiting local breweries.
