Jeffrey Popp
Jeff currently serves as Director of Restoration for the Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy, where he leads WSA’s innovative restoration programs. He enjoys helping communities navigate and implement successful restoration projects that benefit people and wildlife. Prior to working at WSA, Jeff served as a Senior Program Officer at the Chesapeake Bay Trust, where he led several restoration programs to protect and restore wildlife habitat, engage communities, and increase tree canopy in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Jeff also worked for the Wildlife Habitat Council, where he helped large corporations manage and enhance their land holdings to benefit wildlife through proper land management and restoration techniques. In addition, he has worked with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and The Terrapin Institute, where he continues as Co-Director, working with Maryland's state reptile, the diamondback terrapin, along with other native turtle species. He has served on Governor appointed task forces relating to reptile, amphibian, pollinator, and fisheries conservation, and remains active in natural resource and conservation issues on national and local levels. He most recently completed a 2-year Conservation Fellowship with the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders Program where he worked on an anti-poaching campaign for pangolins in West Kalimantan Indonesia. Jeff lives in Annapolis, Maryland where he enjoys gardening, fishing, hunting, herping, checking out local breweries, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
