Avery Pearson

Habitat Restoration Specialist
Avery is a Habitat Restoration Specialist with MJV based in western Minnesota, where she collaborates with USFWS and Ducks Unlimited to restore prairie and wetland habitats for pollinators and other native biodiversity. She began her pollinator work as an undergraduate at The College of Wooster, investigating how different bee species affect the male reproductive fitness of the prairie flower, Echinacea angustifolia, and later researched native pollinators and invasive plant biocontrol at the USDA-ARS NPARL station in Montana. Avery earned her M.S. from the University of North Texas, where she studied how rotational grazing practices impact plants, pollinators, and their interactions. Avery is excited to translate her research experience to pollinator habitat restoration efforts with MJV. In her free time, Avery loves to hike, swim, read, and try out new dessert recipes.
