The MJV California Education Program strengthens western monarch conservation efforts by building a connected, informed network of educators, partners, and interested parties. Through professional development, curated resources, public webinars, and local outreach, the program equips individuals and organizations with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively communicate scientific findings and promote western monarch conservation education.
Workshops & Training – Hosting educational events to empower individuals and communities, including the North American Monarch Institute (NAMI) Professional Development for Teachers and Nonformal Educators from the Monarch Joint Venture.
School & Youth Programs – Partnering with schools, communities, and agricultural programs to give presentations and talks on integrating pollinator conservation into curriculum.
Seed Libraries & Native Plant Resources – Connecting communities with native plant resources and existing programs.
Resource Conservation Districts - Partnering with local RCDs for boots-on-the-ground projects.
Monarch Nectar Hub - Hosting online courses which you can take at your own pace at the Monarch NECTAR Hub, a network for education on conservation, training, and research. Stay tuned for western-focused online educational opportunities!
