MJV’s newest partner is the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. As a unit of the University of Georgia, the garden’s mission is to “nurture an environment for learning, inspiration and engagement through horticulture, conservation, science based programs and lasting partnerships”. The Botanical Garden’s core values of stewardship and conservation are infused into all aspects of their work.
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is committed to the long-term conservation of both milkweed and monarchs in the following key areas: conservation, education, and horticulture. In this multifaceted approach, they contribute habitat restoration projects and educate the public on the plight of monarchs and pollinators, why it is important to contribute to their conservation, and how to get involved.
As a unit of the University of Georgia’s Public Service and Outreach, the State Botanical Garden provides an excellent platform for sharing critical conservation messaging across the state. We are delighted to be partnering with this organization who recognizes the importance of collaboration, communication, and strong partnerships to achieve conservation outcomes.
