Data on monarchs and their habitats are key to understanding monarchs' biology and habitat use, measuring the impacts of conservation, and improving projections of populations and habitats. Recognizing the wealth of data available via a growing number of research projects and community science programs, Monarch Joint Venture's Data and Information Working Group compiled the list below to help researchers understand what data are being collected and how to access those data.
The purpose of this database is to facilitate data sharing and integration and work toward a comprehensive and standardized monarch database resource. Note that the Trinational Monarch Knowledge Network houses many of these datasets in a downloadable format. We strongly encourage datakeepers to submit their data to the TMKN to facilitate access.
If you manage a monarch-related dataset and can offer those data to researchers at some level, we invite you to click the button below to submit information on your dataset.
