Mason Inumerable

Field Technician, Monarch Butterfly Habitat Monitoring (he/him)
Mason is a new Field Technician with the Monarch Joint Venture. He is a lifelong Californian, originally from Tujunga in the LA area, but has also lived in Riverside, Oakland, Stockton, San Francisco, and Hopland. Living and seeing so much of the state has made him passionate about it and its conservation issues, in particular. His professional background starts with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside. For some time after, he was involved in campaigning, organizing, and census taking to help improve the communities that he has lived in. He has had stints with the Sierra Club and the California Conservation Corps as well. This is when he began to understand that his work better lied in the conservation field and that he wanted to get as close to the field as possible. He joined an Americorps program called GrizzlyCorps that placed him with fantastic host organizations, Fire Safe Sonoma and Gold Ridge Resource District. It was here that he gained more immersion in conservation issues and work. He got the opportunity to do surveys, weed abatement, native plant restoration, fire prevention and preparedness work, and so much more. After this he moved back down to SoCal and found work as a Naturalist with The Wildlands Conservancy. This was a great opportunity to learn and retain so much more natural knowledge through outdoor education. Mason is excited to be in this role as a Field Technician because he will get to learn by being out there and observing and contribute to monarch butterfly conservation. Mason is an avid hiker, camper, and backpacker. Beyond his love of the outdoors, he loves his sports teams: the Dodgers, Lakers, and Rams. He enjoys playing video games, weightlifting, and hanging out with his pets (a senior dog, and 3 young cats).
