The University of Minnesota Monarch Lab has developed a monarch habitat recognition program, including categories for monarch gardens, agricultural habitats, restored or natural areas, and managed areas. The "Success Stories" habitat recognition program, can be found on main navigation menu of our website. The goal of the program is to recognize successful habitats with a map and more information about each habitat on the MJV website, and, possibly, award outstanding efforts in the categories identified. As more habitats are submitted to the online map, users can explore what others have done in their area and across the country to help monarchs. To help improve monarch habitat, the UMN Monarch Lab has also developed a Breeding Habitat Assessment Tool, which provides more information about steps that people have taken to create, assess, and improve their habitat(s). Recognitions will be displayed to inform and encourage future monarch habitat conservation projects.
